Clinical Supervision
Art Therapy Supervision Group (group full at this time)
I offer Art Therapy Supervision group for individuals working toward credentials as an art therapist (ATR) and for those requiring clinical supervision to gain state licensing and expertise in child, adult, family, or group art therapy.
The ATCB and the New Mexico Counseling and Therapy Licensing Board recognize “supervision” as an educational and evaluative process which requires the supervisor to meet face-to-face with supervisees, and regularly review work samples such as progress notes, audio and/or video tape, or live observation. Clinical Art Therapy Supervision is the only supervision acceptable for licensing and is required to obtain national certification as an art therapist (ATR) by the ATCB.
This art therapy supervision group will cover compliance with relevant legal, ethical, and professional standards for clinical practice, monitoring of clinical performance and the development of professional identity as an art therapist, and provide feedback and verbal and written evaluation about member’s performance as an art therapist. As your supervisor I will provide education, evaluation, support, and guidance on your path to becoming a reflective, informed, and effective art therapist.
In order to provide the most competent and ethical supervision possible, this group is limited to 5 members. If you are interested in joining, please contact me by email or phone for more information. I will screen potential members for readiness and fit for this group. I may not admit an applicant due to ethical considerations such as dual relationship or circumstances related to your specific work setting. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, curious, growth-oriented, are committed to the profession, and are able to proactively engage in the supervision process.
Due to my dedication to service and the profession of Art Therapy, I have made the cost of this unique supervision opportunity affordable, but will require a 10-session commitment. Supervision will be held on the following dates. In my experience as an art therapist and counselor, holidays can often present unique challenges for clients, requiring more attention, planning, and interventions from their therapists. Thus, I will provide supervision during the holidays.
